The project begins with well TattlerSolutions provided WiFiModem https://tempestfpga.com/ and the Hayes SmartModem Case purchased on EBay
Part three I guess is cleaning the case. Forgot how heavy these modems are.
Remove the SmartModem Board - simple after removing two screws
The board sizes are the same as well as led and speaker placements. Great job on the board layout!
Slides right into the channel on the SmartModem case
End cap back on
Ready to BBS!
Can’t just let that beauty of a dial up modem go without some kind of case.. Step one - bottom of the replacement 3D printed case for the Hayes Smart Modem complete. Top printing this week and a few ideas to replicate the LED front panel
That’s funny, I get a busy signal….
Just another day enjoying this fantastic modem!
Pump Up The Volume
This is pretty cool. I have to admit, I was scouring feebay last night for a hayes smartmodem case in good shape, then a chronograph, then... I had to stop, it was getting expensive. ;)
What a cool idea...
I used to have a bunch of Hayes modems years ago, but they didn't survive the move to the new house. I still have one left... a 2400.
