Yesterday my fiber went out for a few hours. I called imediately, they gave me a help ticket and sent a tech. i found the issue was neighborhood wide. It was resolved a few hours later without the tech. Tech shows up in late afternoon. Because I had a ticket he needed to verify it was fixed. Fine. He need to pic the ONT and upload it to the case. After verifying him, I said ok. He sees the ONT and says corp want all the mounts like this changed to this new improved one, that is slim line. Fine.
What brainiac thought this was better with all the wires exposed for pets and kids to mess up?!? It still takes up the same amount of space.
i complained right away. He said they wouldn’t allow the pic with the old Mount. Ok, I get it, he doesn’t make the rules. He gets the pic. I told him he couldn’t take the old Mount which I had scooped up. he said fine and agreed it was a downgrade. He left and I promptly put it back how it was.
The only strategic difference I found was the ONT is harder to remove from the new mount.
Justification or the attempt to justify spending 1 hour on a ticket VS 5 mins.. Bet he hit up the Del Taco just after and called it a day..
Too funny. 😂 I wonder why they are insisting that the old mounts get changed out.
