Well the disk finally crapped out. I did a full reset of the BBs. I reentered 12 of the accounts I was able to access from the old pass file. Try your old password and phone number. If it doesn’t work just set up a new account. All things considered we would have dreamt of the day that a FoReM or any other basic BBs would run (relatively) problem free for a few years. lol!

Well, I finally got down for a little bit to my ataris only to find the Mac the bbs's were running on, screen was all corrupted. There were a few win updates that needed to be done so I tried to run those and poof. The windows went into the ether. Tried to repair everything last night to no avail. So luckily I had synology drive running and maybe at most 6 hours of data was lost. I needed to move the bbs's back to the old laptop for now. When I get some more time (and patience) I will drag out one of the old towers I have and work on getting the bbs's running on that. But in the meantime we are back to the old laptop. Also pondering just putting win 7 back on that. That would probably resolve some of the laggy issues. But they are back for now. Just wanted all to know the boards didn't disappear.

Hey guys, Since I have been having some speed issues with the celeron laptop the BBS's are running on I have been trying to figure out a way to move to another one of the computers I have laying around. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro A pi400 2 old pc towers I wanted to try to move them to the MacBook using boot camp. So in reality it would just be a regular windows pc. I did originally hack it to run on the latest macOS. I tried to install win10 in boot camp but when it goes to do some updates it pretty much breaks the video cards so win10/11 is a no go. Now, I am trying to downgrade it back to the most recent macOS. (That used to be simple but it appears Apple may have shut down the high sierra network servers). My thoughts are get it back down to a officially usable macOS. Then attempt a win7 boot camp install. (The most current macOS version only supports win10). I think that may be my best option for this project. Now, with win7 and high sierra out of support, is there a way I can run win7 with some good security? I am just concerned one of our friends from Russia will hack in and create havoc with my network. I know some of you guys are really good with windows (I am not) and if memory serves one of us may have been using win7 to run one of the boards. But I could be mistaken. If I get win7 working I am going to try an upgrade path to win10 from 7 to see if the issue resided with apples boot camp drivers (or maybe to open source patcher I used to install the latest macOS) Any suggestions appreciated.

Take a look at this. This was discarded from the burrows under my shed. At first I thought it was a rabbit but it appears I may actually be a fox or dog skull. Great?!??? well I blocked all the holes so we will see if our k-9 killer is still living here. ugh!
Hmm. Maybe not a groundhog?!? content media

Hey all, As some of you may or may not know I have been experiencing some weird stuttering on BBS’s ever since the new year. Before then (when I was active) I don’t recall it or at least not this bad. I have tried using a non u1m Atari, run Sdx with no or minimal config files, tried with the Fujinet and mydos bobterm atr. At first thought it was the internet. I have the downstairs extender/satellite hard wired to the main router via MoCA (that is a whole other story). Tried a few things still getting the stuttering. Went in deep to the wimodem config. Played around with those. Same result. I have checked my connection of the wimodem to the satellite and it is (seems) rock solid. It is usually only noticeable when typing something in. The text files seem to display pretty smoothly. The only thing, internet wise, I haven’t moved the satellite back closer to the Atari desk. I can now do that since I can “hardwire” the satellite to the router with the MoCA adapters. Now, does anyone else have this issue? I am still pretty convinced it is an internet issue but I have tried a pile of options all resulting in the same problem. I would have thought there would have been some change. Either for the better or worse but no change. I am on the 11/2022 firmware on the wimodem. Just thought I’d ask here before I go more crazy. (I have not gotten myself to the point of pulling out the lantronix yet. As that will be relearning how that works again. Lord knows how long that will take me. Lol)

We were talking about an Mio I got. It clearly has a bridge rectifier so AC voltage will be fine. Thought I would upload a bunch of info I got with the Mio maybe someone will find it interesting. I also uploaded a copy of a pic of my Mio board.

I thought I would make this post about some of the conversations we have been having on the bbs’s where the bbs is not the best place to post….say pictures. Here is what haunted me for a long time From the movie ”The Shadow of the Hawk”. (I am watching it right now. Lol)
